Del B. had
often heard stories from her son
about
actually swimming with dolphins. When the
51-year-old woman was battling leukemia, she
never thought that she would one day actually be
able to swim alongside the graceful creatures
herself. Not only was she granted her wish of a
dolphin swim in the Florida Keys with her son,
but she also got a big kiss from a playful sea
lion as well. |

The
opportunity of a mother to watch her children
meet
Mickey Mouse for the first time is
a precious gift. For Andrea Z. who was facing
metastatic cancer, this moment may never had
taken place without the help of Her Heart's Wish.
When Andrea and her husband Mark were able to
take their three daughters, Katie age 11, Emma
age 8 and Grace age 8 months, to Disney World,
the reality of a young mother facing a terminal
illness was forgotten if only for a few short
days. In the words of Andrea, "We had a
wonderful time and felt renewed to face our next
challenges." |

Thelma B.
never had a vacation
in her
65 years of life. With only a few
weeks left to live, her life long dream came true
when she attended a show at the Grand Ole Opry.
She traveled to Nashville with two of her
daughters, and died only days after her wish was
granted. Her daughter stated, "My mom has
always been poor, and she raised six children.
She deserves something good in her life." |

The very
first national wish granted was for a woman
who wanted only to see the Fall
Foliage of Pennsylvania one time in person. Pat
B. did not know that her wish was to visit the
very town where Her Heart's Wish was born. She
spent a long weekend nestled among the beautiful
colors of Autumn in the Pennsylvania mountains
with her sister Sylvia. After a day at the spa
and a special dinner, the majority of her time
was spent watching squirrels running up and down
tree trunks and the leaves swirling around her.
Pat's sister stated, "Everywhere we looked
we were surrounded by such incredible beauty and
beautiful colors. We stayed up late into the
nights reliving times we've shared, as sisters,
family and good friends." |
